Remove actuator guide

To quiet noise:

Verify that there is a white plastic guide at the end of the large screw of the actuator.

  1. Loosen the set screw that secures the top frame rod (see photo).
  2. Remove the 1/2″ diameter rod that attaches the actuator adapter to the underside of the frame and allow the top frame to carefully “stand up”.
  3. Use the foot pedal to retract the actuator completely. The end of the screw will be visible at the top end of the painted adapter tube. The guide will be a white ring around the top end of the black screw.

Remove the plastic guide.

    1. Loosen the set screw (see photo) that secures the actuator adapter tube to the ball nut of actuator.
    2. Unthread the adapter from the actuator.
    3. There is a roll pin that passes through the guide and screw. Punch it out with a hammer and punch.
    4. Replace the adapter tube and pin the top frame on the top end of the adapter tube. Make sure all set screws are tightened again.
