Replacing the Actuator
Replacing the Actuator
1. Using the pedal, bring the cushion to the almost vertical standup position.
2. Unplug the table.
3. Remove the skirt by removing the screws that secure it to the base. Do NOT unplug the motor wires yet.
4. Take note that the seller horizontal tube is toward the foot end of the table. Remove the 1/2″ diameter rod, which attaches the top frame to the actuator. The rod is held in place by a smaller set screw. Allow the top frame to swing up and out of your way.
5. Remove the bolt that attaches the actuator to the base. The motor wires should still be connected to the table.
6. If the table was built before February 2004, you will need to heat the actuator adapter to soften the adhesive on the threads between the actuator and the long round tube. Tables after February 2004 have a small set screw to secure the tube on the threads.
7. Unthread the original actuator from the adapter tube and thread on the new actuator.
8. Place the new actuator next to the mount location and switch the wires, one color at a time from the new actuator to where the oringal was connected.
NOTE: The motor on your new actuator will be mounted towards the foot end instead of to the side.
