How to adjust elevator bolt for auto flex (1999-2018)

1. Loosen the lock nut to enable the elevator bolt to be turned.

2. Turn the handle to about the 2 o’clock position as if you were doing Autoflexion. From the other side of the casting you can observe the round gear on the motor engage in the the teeth of the rack. At least 80 percent of the gear teeth should engage in the teeth of the rack. (See photo.)

3. Turn the elevator bolt only a partial turn and test the engagement. It should not be too loose or too tight. If it is too loose then the gear will skip up the rack. If too tight, it will put extra strain on the motor.

4. Once the engagement is properly adjusted turn the nut so that it locks the adjusting bolt at that height.
