How to adjust the stroke on a thoracic breakaway cylinder

The cylinder in the picture is removed from the table. You should adjust your cylinder mounted in the table.

  1. Use the foot pedal to decrease the air pressure in the thoracic cylinder.
  2. Loosen the lock nut from the end of the cylinder rod.
  3. As you look at the cylinder from the rod end grasp the rod and turn the rod several turns in the clock-wise direction. The end of the rod should move further away from the upper cylinder mount. This lengthens the assembly, allowing the cushion to raise higher.
  4. Adjust it until the cushion height is satisfactory.
  5. Tighten the nut against the end of the cylinder rod to maintain this length.
