Change Out an Outside Scissor
CHANGE OUT AN OUTSIDE SCISSOR
- Remove six screws securing the outer skirt to the top frame and let the plastic down gently to rest on the base.
- The top frame needs to be removed by loosening the 4 set screw s holding the chrome rods in the underside of the top frame. Slide the chrome rods forward until they are out of the two plastic bushings that ride on the rods.
- Also, loosen the two set screws located in the top end of the scissors at the head end. They are located near the balloon “1” in the drawing. Slide the pins (#18) out to free the top frame and set it aside.
- Locate where the outside scissor attaches to the base. The retainer clips (#17) need to be removed in order to slide the pins (#23) out and free the scissor.
- The pivot pin (#24) also needs to be rem oved by removing the same type of retaining clip (#17) from one end of the pin to allow it to slide out and free the outer scissor.
