Removing Cushions

AIR FLEX

– Removing Cushions –

ANKLE – Remove the hex head bolts holding the individual brackets to the “sliding ankle”. Remove the two dry wall screw s that secure the black trigger and cable.Remove the two hex head bolts that secure the “fixed ankle” to the distraction frame.

PELVIC – Turn the tension knob to rem ove all tension on the pelvic drop.

Grasp the bottom of the pelvic drop pin as shown in the picture and rotate it so that the roll pin at the top is no longer in the long retainer bracket on the cushion.

Remove the two dry wall screws securing the trigger at the side edge of the cushion.

Remove the two hex head bolts on each side that secure the pelvic cushion to the hinges.

TH O RACIC & LU M BAR (Applies to both)

Turn the tension knob to take all tension off the drop pin.You should be able to pull the cushion up with your hands and it fall right dow n.

Remove the two hex head bolts that secure each small plate to the underside of the cushion.

Remove the two dry w all screws that secure the trigger at the edge of the cushion.

HEAD – Head cushions are secured in various ways. Three of the more common are shown. Dual Drop AssemblyTwo dry wall screws on each side are inserted through holes of the upper frame. The picture shows the screw near the paper cutter.

Flex H ead

Two bolts secure a retainer bracket on each side of the cushion. This side, with the paper roll, uses two hex head bolts. There are two flat heads under the paper cutter on the other side.
